TIPS AND TECHNIQUES

  1. The thinner the material, the more saw teeth are needed, and the thicker the material, the fewer saw teeth are needed.
  2. For solid wood or solid wood veneers, always use ATB (alternate top bevel) tooth saw blades.
  3. For particle board, MDF and other man made materials, use TC (triple chip or trapezoidal) tooth sawblades.
  4. For table saws, use positive rake (teeth leaning forwards), except for melamine, corian and aluminum, which need negative rake blades.
  5. For radial arm saws, always use negative rake (teeth leaning backwards), because it reduces pulling of the material.
